Tractor Tool Shed Barn - 24’x50’x1.5”
All major timbers full 10x10 hand hewn, 3x5 rafters @ 3oc
Large girts and many knee braces (wind bracing) for strength and visual appeal.
As you can see from the drawings we could easily divide this barn into 2 small barns of 24' wide x roughly 25' +/- long.
We could also do 3 bays which would end up to be 24' wide by roughly 38' +/- long.
The barn frame would consist of all the posts and upper tie beams, girts, knee braces and rafters. It would not include the bottom center beams that are white washed as they are part of the basement structure.
It is currently 8' 4" tall side walls but we could easily raise the overall side wall height to 9' or 10' with plinth blocks or do scarf joints on bottom of posts for additional height.
This barn would make an excellent one story cabin(s) or addition to a house or perhaps a Tractor-Toolshed as per its original use on the farm. It is a stunning smaller barn frame with unusually large timbers from the eighteen-hundreds.
