Spectacular barn from Ingersol, Canada
Large and full of massive hand hewn white pine timbers.
5 bents, 4 bays, with Queen posts and midposts in the end bays.
Bays are roughly 23'6' center of post, 12'6" to center of next post, 12"6" center of next post (door), 23'6" to end of barn.
12 x12ish main posts 16' high + plate 9"
12"x14" tie beams, 9"x12" full length rafter plates (72'long)
Very unusual triple 7"x9" hewn girts on the longitudinal walls - doubles on the end walls
Full length 8"x8" purlins,
A very unusual 5 sided 72' hand hewn ridge beam.
This is just an absolutely incredible large barn, one of the best I have ever seen.
There is a date carved with some ones initials in one of the posts (1894 HB) but we believe it was built earlier than that based on the style and quality of the material.
